Before going to the Park Hyatt St. Kitts, I had heard some negative reviews. The service was slow, the hotel was outdated, there wasn’t much to do, etc. So how did it stack up? Here are my thoughts on the Park Hyatt St. Kitts.
We were warmly greeted and offered rum punch, punch, or water on arrival. The check-in area was busy, but the staff kept us in the loop and thanked us for our patience. In fact, we were always greeted and addressed warmly during our stay. We enjoyed that English was the primary language, and we often commented on the staff’s warmth and humor. They seemed happy to work there, and I would rate their service high.
Yes, we did wait a little at the restaurants, but we were on island time, so that wasn’t a big problem for us. I would say the Fisherman’s Village restaurant had the longest wait times of the hotel restaurants.
I had applied a Suite Upgrade Award to our stay, so we didn’t have a standard room. We were very happy with the suite, as it had a large bedroom, living room, and bathroom. The outside terrace was also a great size.

If you are looking for the luxurious style typical to most Park Hyatts, with marble, chandeliers, and pale neutrals, you will be disappointed. This property has a beautiful beach vibe, with white shiplap walls and sleek, comfy furniture. Just what I would want and expect from being on the beach.

Our terrace.
The grounds, sitting areas, and restaurants were all very beautiful and beachy. There are two pools: a large family pool and an adult infinity pool. Both had cold drinking water and sunscreen available poolside. We stayed at the adult pool and never had a problem finding available chairs or umbrellas.

Look at the cost of the suite, plus it would have had resort fees added on!

If you don’t have a SUA, the standard rooms were still very large!
If you are looking for a ton of activities, I’d go somewhere else. Here is what we did:
It was perfect for what we wanted to do. Honestly, there are things to do, but we just wanted to relax. There are water taxis to Nevis, catamaran and snorkel tours, and island tours. We walked down to Cockleshell Beach and ate at Spice Mill Restaurant. We planned to go to the beach one day and rent chairs and umbrellas, but then looked out at the view from the pool and thought, “Why?”

If you live on the East Coast, the Caribbean is a no-brainer. Coming from the West Coast, though, it’s a long travel day. I rarely return to a place in the Caribbean because I usually prefer to check out other islands. I would 100% return to the Park Hyatt St. Kitts if I lived on the East Coast.
The hotel was beautiful, as was the view. I loved the people at the resort, as they genuinely wanted you to have a good experience.
The only con, in my opinion, were the food options. There are three restaurants: The Great House, Fisherman’s Village, and Stone Barn. There was also poolside service. I enjoyed all the meals, but some restaurants are not open every night, making it tricky to decide where to eat. I enjoyed the Great House menu the most, but it wasn’t open on two of our nights. I really think all three restaurants should have been open each night. And the restaurants are expensive. The breakfast buffet was great, and we could also order from the menu because of my Globalist status.

The Great House was where breakfast was served each morning
We heard about several local restaurants we could have ventured to, but we were relaxing, so we didn’t want to leave the resort. One, the Orchid Bay Beach House, was one we might have tried, but we didn’t manage to make it there on the limited days it was open. A couple of other restaurants people recommended were Salt Plage and Reggae Beach Bar & Grill (which is walkable).
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. If I lived on the East Coast, it would become one that I would come to frequently for long weekends. I would just plan on eating at local restaurants instead of at the resort sometimes. Check out my Oura ring stress results below for the last three days pictured. I’d say that the Park Hyatt St. Kitts was just what I needed!

My first full day was Sunday and it got better and better!

How is it for families with kids?
It has an amazing kids club and we saw a lot of children having a blast in the zero entry family pool!
Perfect timing – I am headed there soon with my daughter. Can you recommend transportation from the airport?
