Buying points: only to top off

We do not usually recommend buying points. It can make sense when you are a few thousand short of a specific award. Purchases go through a third party, so they will not code as travel. A Capital One card earning 2x is your best bet.

    Bonuses change without notice and are sometimes targeted. Always confirm in your bank account before transferring, and never transfer until you have found award space. Transfers are one way.
