If you are looking to visit Hawaii with points then booking a Hyatt hotel is a great choice. Hyatt doesn’t have as many hotels in Hawaii as Marriott does, but they have some really great options! One thing I really love about Hyatt is when you book your stay with points you won’t have to pay any resort fees. Those pesky resort fees really add up, so this is a great benefit to the World of Hyatt program.
Before you book your Hyatt hotel in Hawaii, you’ll need to earn some points. One of the reasons I love Hyatt so much is that there are a variety of ways to earn Hyatt points. For many people, the easiest way to earn Hyatt points is through the card_name or card_name.
Another way to earn Hyatt points is by using cards that earn Chase Ultimate Rewards®, which are points that can be transferred to World of Hyatt. Some popular options include the card_name, card_name, or card_name. Chase Ultimate Rewards® can be transferred into your Hyatt account at a 1:1 ratio.
And the new credit card options from Bilt could be worth considering, too. Bilt’s points transfer to World of Hyatt, which opens up even more points-earning opportunities.
Hyatt has a reasonable award chart, with rooms at Category 1 hotels starting at 3,500 points per night and going up to 45,000 points per night. The fact that you can transfer your Ultimate Rewards® to Hyatt at such a reasonable rate makes it much easier to earn enough points to book a great stay at one of the Hyatt hotels in Hawaii.
Hyatt’s standard hotel award chart has eight categories. If you can travel off-peak, you will find some nice savings. This award chart is changing in May 2026, so be aware of potential category changes or increased costs.

The Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach is a steal at just 15,000 points per night during standard pricing. Come during off-peak and pay just 12,000 points a night. As a Category 4 hotel, you can use the annual free-night certificate that comes with card_name at this hotel (valid at hotels in Categories 1 through 4). The hotel is located near Kuhio Beach Park (in Waikiki), Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and International Market.

Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach
The Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach is another option for a stay on Oahu. When visiting during standard pricing, you can expect to pay 20,000 points a night. The hotel is located within walking distance of Waikiki Beach, restaurants, and shopping.

Enjoy these oversized windows during your stay at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach.
The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa is just steps from Waikiki Beach. Each room has its own private lanai. Enjoy the pool, which looks over the ocean, and the onsite spa.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa
As a Category 6, The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa will cost you 25,000 points a night when you stay with standard award pricing. The resort has a fantastic location right on Ka’anapali Beach. If you have some extra points, you can look into upgrading to a room that comes with club access (subject to availability). Club access allows you to enter a lounge where you can find continental breakfast and snacks throughout the day. This property is an excellent choice for families as the resort has a kids’ club (though this isn’t free) and a great child-friendly pool area.

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa
Coming in at a Category 7, the Hyatt Vacation Club Maui, will cost you 30,000 points a night when you visit during standard pricing. This resort is part of Hyatt’s timeshare program. It is located right next to the Hyatt Regency and you can use all the amenities there. As a timeshare location, you can expect to find a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and a separate living area with a sofa sleeper. We stayed here in 2021, and we loved it!

Hyatt Vacation Club Maui
A Category 8 property, the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is a beachfront resort located in Wailea with direct access to Mokapu Beach. Enjoy one of the four cascading infinity pools, on-site restaurants, and the spa. This resort has been known to be tough to find availability for, so keep that in mind when looking to book. You may need to be flexible and book in advance.

Enjoy a luxury stay at the Andaz Maui.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa is the only Hyatt hotel on Kauai. It is located on the south shore, near Poipu. You will pay 40,000 points per night with standard award pricing. I have stayed at this resort, and it is beautiful! The property has many pools, lush gardens, a sandy lagoon, tennis courts, great on-site dining, and more. It is a great place to bring the kids as well. The beach at the hotel has rough water not suitable for swimming, but you can walk half a mile to Brennecke’s Beach along the beach path to find calmer water. There is also kid-friendly Poipu Beach close by, which I really enjoy.

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa
There aren’t a ton of Hyatt hotels in Hawaii, but there are some really great options! And with the different ways to earn Hyatt points or points you can transfer to World of Hyatt (e.g., Hyatt co-branded cards, cards that earn our favorite kind of points, and now Bilt cards), you have tons of great options—even with the upcoming category pricing changes. And on Hyatt award stays, you won’t have to pay any resort fees, either. I have loved staying at Hyatt hotels and highly recommend Hyatt as your choice when visiting Hawaii.

Your blog posts are super helpful and very much appreciated! Looking at Maui hotels, its seems like they have “no availability” for using points to book rooms during the christmas and post christmas period. Is this standard or am I just looking to book too late? Thank you for your help
The standard rooms may have been booked already. I would set up an alert on Open Hotel Alert in case some open up. Thanks for following us!
Does hyatt regency maui still have the on site childcare?
I would call to check that it is still operating.
