Who doesn’t love a promotion that you don’t have to go out of your way for? If you’ve already got Marriott stays and United flights on the calendar, this one is about as effortless as it gets.
Marriott Bonvoy® and United MileagePlus have launched a new limited-time RewardsPlus promotion. With it, you can earn 2,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points and 1,500 bonus United MileagePlus miles every time you complete both a qualifying Marriott stay and an eligible United flight.
The best part? Your hotel stay and flight don’t have to be part of the same trip. If you have a Marriott stay in August and a United flight in September, that still works as long as both fall within the promotional period.
To take advantage of the offer, you’ll first need to link your Marriott Bonvoy® and United MileagePlus accounts through the RewardsPlus partnership (if you haven’t already) and register by August 31, 2026. Then, complete qualifying paid travel between July 15 and September 30, 2026.
For every eligible Marriott stay paired with an eligible United flight, you’ll receive:
One thing you don’t often see is that existing bookings are eligible, so you don’t need to make brand-new reservations to participate. If you’ve already booked summer travel, you can just register before the deadline and still earn the bonus—voilà!
Of course, there are a couple of catches. First, this promotion is only available to members eligible for the Marriott-United Preferred Partnership. That means you’ll need either Marriott Bonvoy® Titanium Elite or Ambassador Elite status, or United MileagePlus Premier Gold, Premier Platinum, or Premier 1K status.
Second, only paid travel qualifies. Award flights, award stays and even cash-and-points bookings won’t earn the promotional bonus.
Finally, your flights and stays have to match up. If you fly United four times but only stay at Marriott twice, you’ll only earn the bonus twice. Likewise, extra hotel stays without matching flights won’t earn additional promotional rewards.
This isn’t the biggest promotion we’ve ever seen, but if you’re already planning to fly United and stay with Marriott over the next couple of months, it’s about as easy as bonus points get. Registration only takes a minute, and if your travel is already booked, you could pick up a few thousand extra points and miles without having to change your plans.
