Redeem three nights, get the fourth night free when you redeem points for a consecutive four-night IHG® hotel stay. You can receive a fourth Reward Night free, redeemable at that same hotel during that same stay.

All the hotels featured in this post have rooms that can accommodate three or four people (even the international ones!) on points, as of July 2026. 

 

InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile 

Do you have a kid who loves American Girl? The InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile is just a 12-minute walk to American Girl Place. While a visit to American Girl Place will certainly lighten your wallet, your hotel stay doesn’t have to! You can book a family room at this hotel with points. The property is also close to Navy Pier and many other family-friendly attractions in the Windy City. The InterContinental also has a pool, always a hit with the kids. 

The hotel has generous award availability for family-sized rooms. Points prices vary widely depending on the time of year. When I searched in July, I found family-size room availability over Labor Day weekend for about 61,000 points per night (or around 47,000 points per night on average if you book four nights with the fourth-night free benefit). 

The hotel is also currently bookable as part of The Hotel Collection (American Express®) and Home Away from Home (Bilt). 

 

 

Kimpton Hotel Eventi (New York City) 

If you’d prefer to take your city-adventure-seeking family to New York City, you have lots of options with your IHG points. The Kimpton Hotel Eventi is on my wish list to visit for its fabulous Midtown Manhattan location close to Madison Square Garden, Broadway shows, and many other attractions. The property offers coffee and tea service in the morning (ideal for tired parents) and an evening social hour in the lobby. 

One of my favorite times to visit New York is in the winter when it’s less crowded and hotel prices are lower. I found weekend dates in February in a family room for around 82,000 points per night. 

The hotel is also available through The Hotel Collection. The Kimpton Eventi is also available via Chase Travel℠, with Points Boost (as of July 2026) at a redemption value of 1.8 cents per point with a Chase Sapphire Reserve® or 1.3 cents per point with a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. 

 

 

 

Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort (California) 

Maybe your family loves the beach and Disneyland; you can do both by staying at the Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, California. Huntington Beach was a hit with Alex’s kids and their cousins, and your family can stay there with your IHG points. 

While the property is right on Huntington Beach’s waterfront, you can also enjoy lots of other nearby beaches, and it’s only a 30-minute drive to Disneyland. This hotel offers Kimpton amenities, including a social hour, lobby coffee, and a weekly yoga class. The hotel also offers beach towels and chairs, plus bike rentals. 

This hotel can be pricey with points, especially in the heart of summer, but it offers many rooms that accommodate families. Even over Labor Day weekend, I found a two-queen room that could sleep four for 75,000 points (or about 56,000 points per night on average with the fourth-night free benefit). 

During less-busy times, you can even book a family-sized suite that sleeps six people! Next April, for example, I found a two-queen suite that could accommodate six with an oceanfront view, though it’s a pricey 142,000 points per night. 

If you don’t have IHG points, this hotel is also available via The Hotel Collection and Home Away from Home. 

 

 

 

Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman 

Grand Cayman is one of the best places to spend your IHG points on family travel, especially if you’re based in the eastern part of the U.S. and can get there easily. 

The island offers three IHG lodging options, so you can pick whichever one best suits your points budget. The Holiday Inn Grand Cayman is typically around 25,000 points per night, while the Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman and Kimpton Seafire are both consistently priced at 70,000 IHG points per night. 

The Hotel Indigo is the newest property; it opened in 2024. While not directly on the beach like the Kimpton Seafire, the Indigo is a short walk to the gorgeous Seven Mile Beach. Hotel guests get access to chairs, towels, umbrellas, water, and sunscreen at the local beach club. A cute playground sits between the hotel and the beach club. When you’re not at the beach, the hotel has a gorgeous pool area, including a shallow section for kids, complete with family-sized couches under oversized umbrellas to stay cool. 

This hotel has excellent availability; nearly every night of the year is available for 70,000 IHG points, and that includes family-sized rooms that sleep four. Even during Thanksgiving week, I found four-person rooms available with points when the cash rate was more than $700 per night!

 

 

This Hotel Indigo is also available through The Hotel Collection and The Edit by Chase Travel℠. (I also found a listing on Bilt but couldn’t find any nights bookable.) 

 

 

 

Holiday Inn Express Paris – Canal de la Villette

Located in Paris’s 19th arrondissement, the Holiday Inn Express Paris – Canal de la Villette is a canalfront hotel that’s close to Paris’s excellent subway system. It has air conditioning and free breakfast—ideal for families traveling in the summer! 

This property is a rare find in Europe—you can book three people in a standard room with points. I found three-person rooms here in March for as few as 34,000 points per night. 

The hotel also has four-person rooms available for cash bookings. So if you’re booking with points, you may want to contact the hotel and see if they’ll upgrade you to a four-person room. (You need to arrange this in advance due to strict European fire codes; do not show up at a European hotel with more people than you booked the room for.) 

 

 

Bottom Line
