Communities across Venezuela are beginning the long recovery following the recent earthquakes, and American Airlines is making it a little easier for AAdvantage members to support relief efforts. For a limited time, when you donate at least $25 to the American Red Cross’s Venezuela relief fund, you’ll earn ten bonus AAdvantage miles for every dollar you donate.
Here’s what you need to know.
Earning the bonus is simple:
Make sure to enter your name and email address exactly as they appear on your AAdvantage account. Using PayPal or Google Pay Express Checkout could submit a different email address and consequently delay your bonus miles.
Finally, American Airlines hasn’t published an end date for the promotion, so if you’re planning to donate, it may be worth doing so sooner rather than later.

While earning bonus miles is always nice, this promotion is really about helping communities recover after a natural disaster.
According to American Airlines, donations will help support the American Red Cross’s relief efforts for people affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela. The airline is also working with other nonprofit organizations and has taken additional steps to support recovery efforts, including operating humanitarian relief flights, transporting emergency supplies, and providing travel flexibility for affected customers.
