Ten of the Best Points Hotels in Switzerland

Heather H.

Switzerland is one of those destinations that somehow manages to exceed expectations. The mountain villages are impossibly scenic, the trains run like clockwork, and even the smallest towns feel polished and postcard-worthy. Unfortunately, Switzerland is also one of the most expensive countries in Europe. That’s exactly why points and miles can be such a game-changer here.

If you’re dreaming of a stay in Zurich, a lakeside retreat in Geneva, or a mountain base near the Alps, there are some great hotels throughout Switzerland that can be booked using Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, and IHG points.

How to Choose the Right Swiss Hotel for Your Trip

Choosing the right hotel in Switzerland really depends on the type of trip you’re planning.

Zurich is often the best choice if you’re visiting for the first time due to its central location, excellent train connections, and walkable city center. It also works well as a home base for day trips throughout the country.

The Lucerne area is ideal if you’re looking for classic Swiss scenery with easy access to both lakes and mountains. This region has a great balance of outdoor activities, scenic train rides, and relaxing resort-style stays.

If your goal is a true bucket-list Switzerland experience, the Alpine resort areas are where you’ll find luxury mountain hotels, amazing skiing, hiking, and spa retreats that can make for incredible points redemptions if you’re able to score these properties.

Finally, airport hotels near Zurich or Geneva can provide great value for overnight layovers, early flights, or shorter Switzerland itineraries where convenience is the priority.

Park Hyatt Zurich
Hyatt Award Category 8

If you want a luxury point stay in Switzerland, the Park Hyatt Zurich is hard to beat. Just a short walk from Lake Zurich and the Old Town, this hotel is upscale and polished. Rooms are spacious by European standards, and the location makes it easy to explore the city.

This is one of the best uses of Hyatt points in Switzerland, especially considering Zurich hotel prices can easily exceed $800+ per night during peak season. I was able to find this property for 40,000 Hyatt points per night, available in a one-king or two-twin room.

Me and All Hotel Flims

Hyatt Award Category 5

Located in the mountain town of Flims, the Me and All Hotel Flims feels very different from the traditional hotels you’ll find in Switzerland. The vibe here is modern, relaxed, and adventurous, making it a great option if you want to head to the Swiss Alps for skiing, hiking, or biking.

One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is the location. It sits directly in the STENNA shopping complex with easy access to the Flims-Laax-Falera ski area, including ski-in/ski-out convenience and nearby cable cars. The property also has a large wellness area with panoramic saunas, steam rooms, a gym, and spa facilities, which would be perfect after a long day in the mountains.

This hotel can be an especially strong Hyatt redemption during ski season or summer hiking months when cash prices in the Alps rise significantly. Standard rooms can currently be booked for 20,000 Hyatt points per night!

Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport Convention Center

Hyatt Award Category 5

Don’t immediately dismiss this one because it’s at the airport. The Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport Convention Center is directly connected to excellent train service to downtown Zurich. It’s also significantly cheaper in points than the Park Hyatt.

This can be a fantastic option if you’re arriving early, departing late, or planning to use Switzerland’s rail system to explore the country. I’ve read that many travelers prefer this hotel to the Park Hyatt for its newer rooms and better overall value.

Château d’Ouchy, an SLH Hotel

If staying in a lakeside castle in Switzerland sounds appealing, the Château d’Ouchy is one of the most unique Hilton points redemptions in the country. Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, this property has an incredible waterfront setting.

The Château d’Ouchy was originally built as a medieval castle and its location right on Lausanne’s lakeside promenade is close to ferries, restaurants, and public transportation.

In warmer months, you can enjoy the outdoor pool and terrace overlooking Lake Geneva. Many of the rooms here have beautiful views of the lake or the Alps. It’s a very unique Swiss stay that’s even better knowing you can book it with points. I was able to find rates around 80,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Ambassador Zurich Hotel, an SLH Hotel

The Ambassador Zurich Hotel is part of Hilton’s partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World. This hotel is in a prime location, directly across from the Zurich Opera House and just a short walk away from Lake Zurich. There’s even a rooftop terrace with views overlooking the lake and Alps.

Unlike many larger chain hotels in Zurich, the Ambassador has a more intimate feel, with only a small number of rooms and a true boutique atmosphere.

For Hilton Honors members, this is a great property to redeem points for a boutique luxury experience. You can book a queen room for 110,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Holiday Inn Zurich – Messe

The Holiday Inn Zurich – Messe is one of the better value-focused points options in Zurich, especially if you want a comfortable stay without paying the premium prices. This property is located in the Zurich Nord district near the exhibition center, just an easy tram ride to downtown Zurich.

The hotel itself is practical and family-friendly, with larger rooms than you’ll often find elsewhere in Switzerland.

While this isn’t a luxury resort-style property, it can be a smart redemption if you plan to spend most of your time exploring Switzerland rather than staying at the hotel itself. Zurich is notoriously expensive, and using IHG One Rewards points here can help stretch your travel budget significantly.

Renaissance Zurich Tower Hotel

The Renaissance Zurich Tower Hotel is located in Zurich West. This area has transformed into one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods, filled with restaurants, rooftop bars, shops, and nightlife.

The hotel itself sits inside one of Zurich’s tallest buildings, and if you’re lucky enough to get a room on a higher floor, you’ll get impressive views of the city skyline and the mountains.

While this hotel doesn’t have the ultra-luxury feel of properties like the Park Hyatt Zurich, it’s often considered one of the best balance-of-value options in the city for Marriott Properties. You can book rooms here for around 114,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

The Chedi Andermatt

The Chedi Andermatt (a Mr & Mrs Smith property) is one of the most aspirational hotel redemptions in Switzerland (it’s on my list!), and honestly, it looks like one of the most impressive luxury mountain hotels in Europe.

This hotel is located in the mountain village of Andermatt, surrounded by some of Switzerland’s best skiing, hiking, and scenic rail routes, including the famous Glacier Express. The property is incredibly luxurious throughout, with oversized rooms, fireplaces, balconies overlooking the Alps, and one of the most stunning hotel spas in Switzerland.

One of the biggest highlights is the massive glass-enclosed indoor pool and outdoor heated pool with mountain views. Imagine taking a dip here after a long day of hiking!

If this bucket-list Swiss Alps property is now on your list, you can book starting around 94,000 Hyatt points per night rather than paying over $1,000 cash per night.

Zurich Marriott Hotel

The Zurich Marriott Hotel is one of the best all-around Marriott points options in Switzerland, especially if you want a central location without paying ultra-premium prices. This property sits along the Limmat River and is within walking distance of Zurich’s Old Town and main train station. It’s a perfect spot for exploring both the city and the rest of Switzerland by rail.

This hotel has more of a business-hotel feel than a boutique or luxury feel, but it consistently gets strong reviews for convenience and value.

The Cambrian, Adelboden, a Member of Design Hotels

If you’re looking for a Swiss Alps hotel that feels both luxurious and laid-back, The Cambrian Adelboden, located in the mountain village of Adelboden, may be for you. It is one of the most visually stunning Marriott points options in Switzerland.

The hotel is probably best known for its heated outdoor infinity pool overlooking the Alps, which is one of those places that constantly shows up on Switzerland hotel bucket lists for good reason!

As part of Marriott Bonvoy, The Cambrian can be an excellent points redemption. It’s the kind of hotel where you’ll probably spend just as much time enjoying the property as exploring outside of it.

Bottom Line

Switzerland may not have the sheer number of points hotels you’ll find in larger countries, but the ones it does have can offer great value. When cash rates routinely climb into the hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars per night, using points can dramatically change what’s possible within your travel budget.

One thing I love about Switzerland is that you really don’t need to keep changing hotels. Thanks to the train system, you can easily base yourself in places like Zurich, Geneva, or Lucerne and explore from there.

If you’ve been saving points for a bucket-list trip to Europe, Switzerland is absolutely worth considering.
