I remember the Chase Sapphire Reserve® launch like it was yesterday. Everyone and their dog seemed to be applying for the card, and for good reason. It launched with a massive 100,000-point welcome offer and a lineup of travel perks that felt almost too good to be true—and back then, they kind of were.
Of course, Chase’s 5/24 rule was already in effect by then, so not everyone could get approved. Some desperate points-and-miles fiends were practically storming Chase branches, hoping an in-branch preapproval might be their ticket around the restriction.
But all that is somehow ten years old. Chase is celebrating with a handful of limited-time offers, an expanded DoorDash benefit, and a contest giving travelers a shot at millions of Ultimate Rewards®.
Cardholders as of September 16, 2026, can log in to their Chase account and choose from several anniversary promotions. These offers must be activated
The offers that are available include:
If you maximize all five offers, you can earn up to $1,050 back after spending at least $3,700.
The IHG offer ends October 16, 2026, while the rest of the offers are available through December 14, 2026.
One important part of these promotions is that you must book directly with the travel provider rather than going through Chase Travel℠. That means eligible hotel stays and JSX flights can still earn four points per dollar spent on flights and hotels booked directly.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® DoorDash benefit is also getting an upgrade. Beginning October 1, 2026, the credit will be worth $15 per month (up from just $5 per month). Cardholders will also continue to receive two $10 monthly credits for eligible non-restaurant DoorDash orders.
That brings the card’s potential DoorDash value to as much as $35 per month.
Last but not least, Chase is launching a contest tied to the Sapphire Reserve® tenth anniversary. From September 16 through November 6, 2026, you can share a favorite trip you’ve taken since 2016 for a chance to become one of ten finalists.
The grand prize winner will receive 5.5 million Ultimate Rewards ® points, and the other nine finalists will each receive 500,000 points.
Ten years later, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® looks a lot different than the card we were all losing our minds over in 2016. Still, between the limited-time offers, bigger DoorDash credit, and a shot at 5.5 million Ultimate Rewards® points, Chase found a pretty decent way to mark the occasion.
Here’s to another ten years of one of the best travel cards around, hopefully with no major new restrictions along the way. May the points-and-miles odds be ever in our favor.
