I’ll admit it: Condor had me at the stripes. Before I even settled into my business-class seat, I was smiling at the branding. The blanket was striped. The seat had stripes. The amenity kit was striped. The slippers were striped. Even the eye mask carried the theme. Condor has clearly committed to its look, and I loved how fun and different it felt compared with the more serious business-class cabins we’re used to flying.

I booked this flight for 45,000 Atmos Rewards points plus about $150 in taxes and fees. It was a mixed-cabin itinerary: economy on the Lufthansa flight from Zurich to Frankfurt, then Condor Business Class for the long-haul portion to New York City.
Before the Condor flight, my sister and I spent some time in a Lufthansa Business Lounge in Frankfurt that surprised me. I’ve been in Lufthansa lounges before and honestly haven’t been that impressed, but this one was really good.
It was a nice place to spend some time before our flight, and one of my favorite little details was a jar of treats available in the lounge. It was such a small thing, but those are the touches I remember most. I wasn’t expecting much based on my previous Lufthansa lounge experiences, so this was a very pleasant surprise and a great way to start our trip home.

Once I boarded our Condor flight, we were offered orange juice or champagne. Waiting at my seat were a blanket, pillow, and seat pad, along with the striped amenity kit, slippers, and eye mask. The attendants were professional and helpful, which is pretty usual in business class.

Condor business class had a 1-2-1 configuration on our flight, so every passenger had direct aisle access. My sister and I chose the two center seats, which worked really well for traveling together. We could easily talk when we wanted to, but we still had our own space.
The seat converts into a lie-flat bed, and I found the bed very comfortable. Condor provides a seat pad, which made a noticeable difference once I was ready to sleep. This was a day flight, but I still managed to sleep for about 3½ hours. That says a lot about the comfort of the bed, because I certainly hadn’t planned on sleeping that much on a daytime flight.
For me, a good business-class seat and the ability to actually sleep matter more than many of the extras, and Condor did very well here.

I was also impressed with the entertainment. There was a good selection of movies and shows, and I had plenty to choose from while I was awake. Between the entertainment and my unexpected 3½-hour nap, the flight went by very quickly.
The food was probably the weakest part of the experience for me. I wasn’t particularly impressed. It wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t a meal I would remember or look forward to having again. Food can make a business-class flight feel extra special, and this was one area where Condor fell a little short for me.

The food was the weak spot.
Still, I’d take a comfortable lie-flat bed where I can sleep for 3½ hours over an amazing meal and an uncomfortable seat any day. For 45,000 Atmos points plus about $250, I think this was a very good redemption.

I slept well, enjoyed the entertainment, liked the direct aisle access, and found the overall business-class experience comfortable. Would I fly Condor business class again? Absolutely. And yes, the stripes might still be my favorite part.
